Delicacies at Alvar Aalto’s Sauna

This unique sauna and laundry building was designed by world-famous architect Alvar Aalto, originally for use by factory workers. Today, after an eventful history, it is the only sauna and laundry building designed by Aalto that is open to the public. The idyllic setting of Kauttua Ironworks and the design of Alvar Aalto ensure a warm and cosy atmosphere.  The story of the building and the unique setting will mesmerise you! 

You can enjoy local delicacies at the cafe, relax in the heat of the sauna, and buy souvenirs at the design shop. Lunch is served on Saturdays and during the summer season daily. You are also welcome to stay overnight.

The venue is also used for family gatherings and business meetings. Note that opening hours may vary due to these private events. Please check the opening hours before your arrival by calling us or by visiting our Facebook page, where you can also find information about current events.
